A doctor in California has come up with a new weapon in the fight against sexually transmitted diseases.

It's a website (inspotla.org) that allows people to send an anonymous STD e-mail. The message is simple: "Sorry to send you this information, I got an STD. You might have it too, please get checked out."

A Los Angeles public health director came up with the idea because a lot of people diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease are often too embarrassed or plain thoughtless to tell their sexual partners.
