Public health officials are once more sounding alarm about rapid spread of herpes virus; Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that prevalence of herpes simplex virus type 2, which causes most cases of genital herpes, has increased 30 percent since late 1970's, with more than one in five American adolescents and adults now infected; warns that 80 to 90 percent of estimated 45 million people who carry virus do not even realize it, since many never experience genital lesions associated with the disease; photo (M)...
